Chattanooga Symphony & Opera new Music Director
Posted on 25. Apr, 2011 by Cansler Photography.
What can I say, it has been a great experience working with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera. Last year I had the opportunity to work with the then current Music Director Robert Bernhardt and had a great time creating images that have been plastered all over town on billboards and in print(see last years CSO formal & casual). As I mentioned a couple of days ago I was looking forward to working with the new Music Director that was to be announced.I was wondering if the new candidate would be as much fun as Bob Bernhardt well I am here to tell you she is! Even though she was tired from all the welcoming parties and meet and greets the new CSO Music Director Kayoko Dan was a blast to work with. First we did something formal inside the Tivoli to compliment the images that I did last year. Then we went outside and photographed her in front of the Tivoli marquee that was lit up just for her.
Lastly we scurried over to the Chattanooga Theatre Centre and photographed Kayoko with the Chattanooga skyline behind her. Kayoko had her dog with her so we grabbed a quick image of the two of them(her dog Maggie Moo wasn’t too interested in being photographed she wanted to run and play).
In the short time we spent together I think Chattanoogan’s are in for a treat. Kayoko is smart, young and full of energy with the right mix of confidence and humility. I am looking forward to next season!

New Music Director Chattanooga Symphony
Posted on 20. Apr, 2011 by Cansler Photography.
Well tomorrow is the day! At 10:30am the suspense will be over because the new Music Director of the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera will be announced at the Tivoli. I’m looking forward to meeting the new director in the morning and then in the afternoon we will be photographing them for the upcoming years season brochure. One of my friends called yesterday and tried to get me to spill the beans on who it was I told her that I had been threatened to keep my mouth shut so I did. I am excited to be working with the Katie Wilson to create some cool images for the CSO to use in their marketing pieces. Stay tuned as I will post some images as soon as possible of the new director!

2011 Senior Model from Baylor School Chattanooga, TN
Posted on 31. Mar, 2011 by Cansler Photography.
Rebecca was one of our models from Baylor School this past year. She was a blast to work with and up for anything, even getting up early one morning even though it was cold when we went outside. To make matters worse I had her step into a cold creek and pretend that she was wading on a hot day(it was about 42 degrees). She grinned and endured the trauma like a pro! Her mom got her coffee table book a while back but I just now had the time to post it on the blog. I wanted to show off the great job that Laura my assistant did in the layout and design of this book. The cool thing about these books is that no two are alike NO BORING Templates used here. Everything about these “one of a kind” books are individualy designed to reflect the seniors personality and the level of detail and depth is extraordinary. These are the kinds of things we enjoy creating for our seniors taking ideas that they have and just playing with them to make images that communicate who they are at this point in their life.
