What is important?

Tonight I have hours of work to do but after quickly drinking freshly juiced vegetables I was getting ready to go to work downstairs when my daughter says “I want you to sit on the couch and hug me”. I said I have got to get to work Sydney. “Dad I will be 24yrs old (13 now) very soon and you won’t have your only daughter around to hug on”. Guess what I did for the next 30 minutes until she went to bed? A matter of perspective!

A Salute to His Grandfather!

I know, I know, I wasn’t supposed to post this image tonight but I had to!!! I had posted a request on Facebook to photograph a veteran for my July newsletter(the veteran thing didn’t work out on such short notice but has morphed into something that I think is going to be amazing). The fabulous Emily Eiselstein Glover suggested that I contact Owen’s parents to see if they would be willing to let me photograph their son. Owen’s grandfather had recently passed away and Emily thought it would be meaningful to photograph him with his granddad’s flag. Since the grandfather will be interred at the Chattanooga National Cemetery we did the portraits there. Thanks mom and dad for letting me create images with meaning. Here is two of the images, loved the lighting, drama and emotion of these portraits.Tate_94873_FBTate_94859_FB
