I’m sorry did Taylor Swift just walk into Cansler Photography?

Caitlin and her mom came in not to long ago inquiring about our senior sessions and portraits. You know when you see someone and they have an uncanny resemblance to someone, but you can’t quite put your finger on it?
That’s what happened the first time I met Caitlin. It really drove me crazy for the rest of the day. Then it hit me. Caitlin could really be Taylor Swift’s long lost twin. (In case you haven’t been keeping up with you’re tween gossip or country music knowledge, Taylor Swift is the young country sensation who is topping the country and pop billboards. She also had a torrid love affair, probably through text messages, with one of those Jonas Brothers.) If you haven’t seen her or don’t believe me please google for yourselves after looking at this images of Caitlin looking gorgeous in her favorite Juicy Couture outfits.
I can’t speak for Taylor because I’ve never met her, but I have met Caitlin. She was great fun to photograph, work with, and an absolute sweetheart! We are looking forward to sharing the rest of her images from her Ultimate session when we complete the second half, so stay tuned!

“It’s fine, it’s my sister’s dress”

Meg came in for her senior Art Elite session yesterday morning, and had all of her outfit changes organized and ready to go. This always makes life easier for us when this happens, but we do enjoy switching and mix matching our clients choices. We really can’t help ourselves. Meg totally rocked out this session. She was cool, calm, and confident in front of the camera. There was no wasting time getting comfortable with this girl.
With flowers blooming and the grass still looking lush and green from the early morning dew we couldn’t resist doing something in the park. Meg didn’t even mind the wet grass slippers she got while walking bare foot, and when I went to wipe of the park bench to make sure it was clean enough for her to sit on in her dress she gave me the comment of the week…”it’s cool, it’s my sister’s dress.” From one younger sister to another I could totally relate, and fell in love with her immediately. Brad, who photographed her older sister a few years earlier for her senior portraits, then shared his theory of The Spoiled Younger Siblings. After some well made points Meg and I both agreed that in reality our parents, like many other, had to try again because they didn’t get it right the first time. (I kid, of course.)
Meg’s session was amazing, and I can’t wait for her to come in to see all of her images. I’m also betting there may be a sister competition on who had the better senior portraits, to which we all can be sure will result in a tie.

Devon came in for his senior Art Elite session yesterday, and I have to tell you he’s definitely someone to look up to. Literally, he’s 6’5 and even on my tip toes I still was looking up to him. He had so many great outfits already put together that we were ready to go in only a few minutes.
With a great sense of style and a killer grin, that I’m sure makes all the girls a school swoon, we couldn’t help but end up with amazing photographs of him.
We headed to our old factory location, which on a sad note is about to be no more. They are already in the works to bulldoze (tear). On the bright side this means Devon is one of the few and the last to have amazing photographs there.
As we headed back to the studio we had to finish up with some great shots of him in his football jersey with his ball. Brad is not a huge football fan, but I’ve been known to read a few S.I.’s and paint my face during the fall. (I’m a rabid Vol fan in case you were wondering.) So, it was no problem coming up with great football shots. It also didn’t hurt that Devon looks like he probably was born with a football in his hand. Finger’s crossed, he should have a great season this year and an amazing college career. Good luck to Devon, and we had an amazing time doing your session.
