You Just Never Know!

A couple of monthes ago one of my clients was in town from Chicago to visit her parents. Her mom had called and scheduled a session for the newest addition to the family. I met Lanie when I did bridal portraits for her at her mom’s home several years ago. Since she started her family I have had the opportunity to create a portrait of each of her children at different stages. We were going to do photographs to match up with previous portraits that we had done of her older children. As all parents know, children have their own agenda. Annabel was interested in doing her own thing, and sometimes the only way you can get great images if you let them explore and be themselves.
We weren’t able to schedule a time for Lanie to look at the images while she was here so I just got around to narrowing them down and wanted to share a couple of them with everyone.I love the formal b&w look we have seen more people requesting this because it is always classic.

Who’ll Stop the Rain?

Wow this October weather has been crazy! You always hear about October’s bright blue weather but I am thinking maybe it should be October the rainy season. We have had an interesting time because everyone wants to do outside portraits but it has either been muddy with sun or pouring rain. I am going to start encouraging all my clients to do “creative” portraits in raincoats and use colorful umbrellas as props.
I am looking forward to seeing the sun again soon. The fun part is going to be cramming all the sessions we have had to reschedule into the limited number of days available.

I’m Soooooo Bored
Posted on 06. Oct, 2009 by Cansler Photography.
One of the things that is always a constant when doing trade shows such as the 2009 Fall Home Decor Show is that you have moments of boredom. There are always periods when attendees are not coming through the show so what do you do? You visit with other vendors and catch up on the gossip and news. So I must say thanks to my friends Juliet Privette and Kris Keith at Classic Cabinetry. We spent quite a lot of time chatting, telling stories and laughing. We talked about helping prospective clients understand how our services are a better value than the competition(because they get what they want). It was fun sharing ideas even though our services and products are very different.
Becky Whorley of Classic Cabinetry always does a great display and this year was no exception. I thought I would share some of the images of her booth that I took when I was bored.
