Last night was a historic night for the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. Not only was it the premiere of the CSO’s Master Works series but it was the new music director’s debut. Kayoko Dan is the youngest music director in the CSO’s 79 year …history and in addition to this distinction she is also the first women. I am very excited about the direction of the CSO and am thrilled to be part of the organization. Here are a couple of photographs from the event last night. It was also very cool to have my name on the front of the CSO season brochure and to have the opportunity to display for the first time Kayoko Dan’s portrait along with the other principal musicans from the CSO.My wife Helen and daughter Sydney before the concert.

Looking for Snails and Minnows on Lookout Mountain, GA

Lisa told me at our annual Santa party last December that she wanted to do an art piece for their home in spring. We made a note to call her in April to discuss the specifics. When I called she said they loved going to the Lula Lake Land Trust on Lookout Mountain and asked if I thought it would be a good location. I told her that I had never been there but would love to look at it. We made arrangements for me to check it out and see the possibilities; after driving forever and then hiking around I decided it was worth the effort! I told her what time of day would be good and we scheduled the session for several weeks later. The day of the session was beautiful the girls were amazing and the images turned out great. They had a blast looking for snails and minnows and also wading in the creek. It was a miracle that neither of them fell in the water and became soaked. With a little planning and effort you can create personal art for your home that is original and brings back wonderful fond memories.

Growing Family captured in Black and White

Michelle and Shane saw our exhibit at the Blue Cross Blue Shield windows at the old Miller Building in downtown Chattanooga and gave us a call. They loved the mom, dad and baby images that they had seen and wanted something for themselves and their new son Elliott. We got together and discussed what they wanted and decided on a series of b&w’s . Elliott was only a month old when we took these photographs. Mom and Dad ended up with some color images but this was the main piece we did for them, a tall skinny collage. I can’t wait to see Elliott again as he will have changed dramatically by 6 months.
