Sydney in front of the Japanese maple

Yesterday was the day of our annual trek to do photographs of Sydney in front of the Japanese maple. Every year since she was 8 months old we have photographed her in front, beside, or in the middle of the branches. The day was cloudy with only occasional sun peeking through which causes a problem because the tree dosn’t come alive visually unless it is backlit or unless it has sidelighting. There was none of that yesterday so I had to fake sunlight! In the last image it was getting very dark so she had to hold still for over a second so she would be sharp. We took a lot of this image with most of them blurry from movement.

This cannot be Sydney…Brad, it has been quite some time but every once in awhile I check your website to catch of glimpse of her and she has grown into such a beautiful girl! I know she doesn’t remember me, but give her my love just the same.

Wanted to remind all our clients who are interested, Santa arrives at the studio on December the 3rd. As those of you who have been to our openhouse / santa party know we have the real “Santa” not one of those imitation guys. This year Santa is looking forward to seeing all of his children that he has been keeping a watch over. This open house is open only to clients because Santa has a limited time so we have to limit the number of families. As always Santa has a special gift for each child that comes to see him. In the past there has been some confusion about possible packages the short answer is we do this as a thank you to our clients so the Santa photo packages start at around $50 with the average around $75. These are some of the images from last year. It was hard to choose because all the kids did great.

Formal Three Generations Portrait in Chattanooga

I don’t often have the opportunity to create formal portraits of more than just children so this session was a treat. HINT HINT! I would like to be able to do more of these classic portraits. Anyway this was a three generation portrait session with two entirely different looks. I love the contrast of the grandmother and the mother’s red hair with the daughters light blond. Oops I meant to say the two sisters with a daughter!
