We See the Beauty in Others, but Not Ourselves

We all know the thought… I’ll just wait one more year maybe I’ll look a little better. We just can’t imagine remembering ourselves exactly as we are. We are always waiting for the moment that will never be here. The moment that we will feel flawless. However, in all the time that we spend waiting, we are forgetting the value of the moment. Your grandchildren will place far more value on the portrait they will cherish for many years than they will on the wrinkle on your forehead. What will it take to open our eyes to the fact that no one is focusing on the flaws that you spend so much time dwelling on? All your loved ones see is everything that is beautiful about you. We see the beauty in others with such ease when we look at a photograph. Why can’t we do the same for ourselves?
