The Flu Experience

This past weekend Helen and I both got a stomach flu bug at the same time. Both of us were sick most of the night and the next day. Sydney our daughter had to fend for herself because neither her mother or I could do anything. As I lay in bed drifting in and out there were moments of loopiness and lucidity. I kept thinking this too shall pass and wondering how some people who are very ill manage with such grace and dignity. I kept thinking wow I am such a wuss and I can’t even move. I knew I needed to drink to rehydrate but I just wanted to lay there. Obviously I forced myself to down the proper liquids because I am 100% better today and very thankful that it only lasted a short while.
