What a gorgeous morning! The Scales family came in this morning, it is has only taken a couple of years to get everyone together at the same time! Those of you with grown kids know how hard that can be. Mom and I had discussed doing something that was iconic Chattanooga. Thrilled the weather cooperated and we had spectacular sky. Other than everyone being a little chilly things were great, the breeze didn’t kick up until we were done, Yeah!Scales_89912_FBScales_89945_FB

Having Fun at the Tivoli with Master Musicians

Several weeks ago I mentioned that I was working on more images of some of the talented musicians from the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. Well we just finished photographing the remainder of the Principals. Everyone of them were so easy to work with and I love the challenge of creating something different for each individual. Nichols_Alan_85138_FBHartnett_Colin_88684Hobbs_David_88801Warner_Doug_88742Coulter_Monte_88616

Pablo Picasso sketching story

Someone called and wanted to know why we charge what we do compared to other people who use a camera.
I think this old story is the best way to explain why some people charge different amounts.
Legend has it that Pablo Picasso was sketching in the park when a woman approached him.
“It’s you — Picasso, the great artist! Oh, you must sketch my portrait! I insist.”
So Picasso agreed to sketch he…r. After studying her for a moment, he used a single pencil stroke to create her portrait. He handed the woman his work of art.
“It’s perfect!” she gushed. “You managed to capture my essence with one stroke, in one moment. Thank you! How much do I owe you?”
“Five thousand dollars,” the artist replied.
“B-b-but, what?” the woman sputtered. “How could you want so much money for this picture? It only took you a second to draw it!”
To which Picasso responded, “Madame, it took me my entire life.”
