Dear Mother: I Love You
Posted on 13. Apr, 2016 by Cansler Photography.
Thank you Mom for being there when I smashed my finger and thumb almost off and you carried me to the car. Not sure why I couldn’t walk; I think it was more that you wanted to comfort me! Thank you for taking care of me when I almost died from double pneumonia. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my constant barrage of questions about everything and doing your best to answer. Thank you for teaching me how to work hard and make every move count. My list goes on and on.
With Mother’s Day fast approaching it is a great time to remember to say thank you for all the little and big things that mothers do everyday. As children, most of us grow up surrounded by loving and caring moms. As children, many of us can be ungrateful because we have always had a nurturing environment and take for granted having a mom that is always there.
“There’s no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.”
~ Jill Churchill
Remember the million and one reasons that you should be thankful for your Mom this Mother’s Day and if you still can, share some of them with her.

Spring is in the Air…
Posted on 17. Mar, 2016 by Cansler Photography.
Do you love spring? Are you like me and feel that spring is a time for renewal and rebirth. I love the flowers and the new growth appearing. The warmer days and cool crisp nights. The sense of optimism and celebration. The desire to be more active, yet also taking the time to sit quietly and listen to the song of the birds, watch the formation and changing shapes in the fluffy white clouds and breathing in deeply to smell the blossoms. (Then cough – for the allergy sufferers J). Springtime, when nature bursts with new life and the promise of the summer lay ahead.
I thought I would share a few quotes from great writers on their perceptions of spring.
“Spring is the time of plans and projects.” ~ Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina
“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
“Winter is dead.” ~ A.A. Milne, When We Were Very Young
“Despite the forecast, live like it’s spring.” ~ Lilly Pulitzer
The last one is compelling because it speaks to how you choose to live every day, not only in the springtime. Sure it is easier to have a sunny disposition when it is beautiful outside, but on those dreary days to also live radiantly, ah that is to live like it’s spring.

Tell Your Story
Posted on 17. Mar, 2016 by Cansler Photography.
What kind of story do you want to tell?
Storytelling is one of the basic fundamentals of humankind. We use stories every day to share pieces of our lives with others, to relay vital information and even to give ourselves an escape from the mundane.
“I want it to tell a story.” That’s something you will hear from musicians, filmmakers, painters, photographers and sculptors. You’ll hear this in boardrooms to schoolrooms. It permeates advertising and that’s because we all relate to stories.
You have a story. Your family has a story. Your business has a story that needs to be told. If you are unsure of exactly what that story is, just ask yourself a few questions:
- Who matters the most to you?
- When do you feel the happiest?
- What do you want your legacy to be?
Usually these questions will release the story that is in you just waiting to be told.
Our passion is creating artwork that tells your story. Call today because you don’t want your story to be left untold.
