And The Winner Is…

I was very excited to start Addison and Sophie’s session. Their dad Danny had called a while back about getting his wife Eleanor a gift certificate to have their children come in and get their portraits made for her birthday. So Danny and I secretly played phone tag, and set up how the gift certificate should look, the message inside, etc. (Husbands, fiances, and boyfriends, I hope you’re paying attention…this is a birthday/holiday gift giving gold mine!)Howard5811

I’ll admit this session was HOT! It wasn’t really the temperature, but the humidity was a killer. Sophie and Addison were such great sports, and with a couple of cool off breaks they were ready go again. Toward the end of our session The Wiggles came out. The Wiggles in caHoward5816se you’re wondering is what happens when kids are made to stand still for an extended period of time. Yes, in the beginning it’s easy to be still, but as a big kid trapped in an adult body I can understand the need to wiggle from time to time. So to keep us on track I started the competition of the century between this brother and sister duo. When they split up for their individual shots I informed both that I was keeping score and who ever did the best won a prize. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not above bribery, especially if it works.
It was a tight race. Poses quickly came naturally, smiles were flawless, and suddenly our friend The Wiggles was gone. We have gorgeous stuff of these two, and they were a joy to work with.

Oh and in case you were wondering…It was tie. Everyone got a prize.

Macy came in for her Art Elite senior session yesterday. Brad and I had just finished part of a session from earlier that day, and the creative juices were flowing.  I knew that this was going to be a great session when Macy and her mom came in bright eyed and full of smiles. I love when our seniors are excited to start their session because it makes me even more excited to get started too! Some people are just naturally comfortable in front of cameras, and luckily for us Macy is one of them. It doesn’t matter what way you position them, they look comfortable. Most of the time she did awesome falling into her own poses naturally.

She had a gorgeous black dress that we couldn’t help but get a little Marylin Monroe with. Macy2344
As we went for more casual looks Macy really got into it and started doing her own thing. She was really a natural in front of the camera, and we could tell she was having fun! With her gorgeous pearly whites and beautiful curly hair shooting her senior portraits was a breeze. We had so much fun during the session, and before we knew it we were done. Time really does fly when you’re having fun. Macy, you rocked it!Macy2557

Amanda was our first Ultimate Session to kick off our senior portrait season. I was thrilled to find out we were going to do half the session at her home and work with a couple of her horses. Now, I’m not sure if you’ve ever worked with animals for anything, but let me just fill those of you who haven’t in…THEY HAVE THEIR OWN AGENDA!Amanda1927While both horses were well behaved, it took a couple carrots, kissing and clicking noises, and a couple feed bribes to get their ears and stance just right. All that being said, these shots are amazing and totally worth it.Amanda2049

The other real highlight of the session for me was figuring out who it was Amanda reminded me of. You know when you meet someone for the very first time and you’ve never seen them before, but they remind of you someone. I just couldn’t put my finger on who it was she reminded me of. Brad hit the nail on the head yesterday for me (thank goodness because it was driving me crazy all morning). Amanda has an uncanny resemblance to Heather Graham!

She didn’t see it herself, but just take a good look! She could get a part-time job stunt doubling if Heather ever does any horseback riding movies.
Anyway, we did some great new locations and lighting! Here is just a little tease of all the awesome things we did. Yeah, I know you’re jealous that I get to look at all of them, but at least I’m sharing! :0)
