Sullivan came with her mom for her Art Elite session, and we had some great new ideas to test on her. Not to sound like she was our guinea pig, but in a sense yes, yes she was. It worked out perfectly though because of something I like to thing of as photography fate. All the stars/ lighting equipment aligned when Sullivan pulled out her outfit choices. Brad and I were itching to shoot somewhere new, and Sullivan just so happened to bring a cute purple sundress that allowed us to try something different at a new location.

When this time of year rolls around we are doing multiple senior sessions a day, and we HAVE to challenge ourselves to do something different for EVERY SINGLE SENIOR! Otherwise, everyone will have the same look in their photographs, and let’s be honest that is essentially as bad as being forced to pick only one cereal every day for breakfast for the rest of your life.Million10841

We enjoy and pride ourselves in being different, and we are pumped to keep having senior coming to us looking for something out of the ordinary.Million10932

Brad has been working with Betty for sometime now. She is a self proclaimed “framing queen” and she loves having her grandchildren’s portraits made for their sixteenth birthday. We recently shared with you the images of her brother’s session, and I couldn’t help but tell all of you about how he heckled Brad about purchasing his equipment from Bi-Lo. Sessions with Betty are always a blast.
Last week it was that time again. Betty’s grandson Hunter turned sixteen recently, and it was time for his session. When we arrived at her home to start the session I caught my self in a dead stare for a moment looking at all the previous grandchildren’s portraits and their parent’s portraits lining the walls in her living room and music room. Call me a sap if you want, but it really was touching to see all these individual portraits of her children and grandchildren together.
They obviously show she adores and is in love with all of them, is proud to show them off, and that these portraits have really become a tradition or a rite of passage if you will, in her family.
We are so very grateful for all of our clients, and especially for Betty. She’s allowed us to be a part of something truly special.

Mastey9348Sarah came in for her senior Art Elite session last week. Yes, I’m running a little late posting a whole week later, but we’ve had sessions out the wahzoo lately. Anyway, back to the subject. Sarah came in for her session, and was ready to go. Literally she already had on one of her outfits that she wanted to be photographed in. I love people who start out one step ahead of the game. Sarah had so many cute outfits and gorgeous curly hair. I knew right away we were going to get some great shots of her.

What we were both unaware of was the already available fan base she had here on Vine Street. Let me explain. On Vine Street all of these great old houses need some work done on them from time to time. This being said, there is usually a construction crew or two working periodically fixing odds and ends at these homes. Where we were shooting happened to be directly across the street from one of the houses with a construction crew. Now, they managed to keep the cat calling and whistles down to a minimum, but I think it was still quite embarrassing for Sarah to endure. Not so surprisingly though when her mom arrived all heckling ceased. Sarah was such a sweetheart, and we had a great time working on her session.Mastey9176
