A Lady and a Gentleman

Anna and Jack are the grandchildren of one of our wonderful clients. These were taken rather late in the day so I was impressed at how cooperative they were. The children really did try and follow all our instructions; behaving just like a little lady and a little gentleman. Poor Anna had to deal with the wind blowing her hair in her face every 3 seconds and me fixing it constantly. Jack, a little younger, had the wiggles, but you can’t tell! Brad works miracles. The evening is sometimes difficult for children’s sessions but Anna and Jack were troopers and we have some beautiful photographs to prove it!Thanks Anna and Jack for being so great to work with!

Happy 4th of July
Posted on 05. Jul, 2010 by Cansler Photography.
Well another 4th of July has passed. This year we celebrated in our traditional way by going to my parents, eating fresh homemade peach ice-cream, fresh from the garden corn on the cob, delicious ice-cold watermelon, etc. After stuffing ourselves we came home and watched the multiple fireworks displays in our neighborhood. This year Sydney wanted to set off some herself so we drove towards Cleveland, TN until we found the first fireworks stand and then we purchased a few things that we knew she would enjoy. By the time we were done it was way past her bedtime.
While she was playing with sparklers she made a heart that I photographed. So here is the image that is the perfect illustration for this day that we celebrate, love of country and of family.
Here is to next 4th of July, may we all still be here to celebrate once more.

Teen Angst aka Moody Lighting
Posted on 01. Jul, 2010 by Cansler Photography.
For those of you who are Facebook friends with CanslerSenior, you already know that yesterday we had some of our models come to the studio for a Twilight inspired session. For those not in the know, yesterday we had some of our models come to the studio for a Twilight inspired session (heehee). No, we did not dress anyone up as a vampire or have shirtless guys running around. I said INSPIRED, not copied!
We took the dark backgrounds, moody, high-contrast lighting and put a Cansler spin on it. We also tried some hairstyles on the girls that we don’t normally do. And which, needless to say- they don’t normally wear. For the guy’s option we had Josef come in and model for us. He was a great sport about it, even though this is not his everyday self. These are not your typical smiling, happy teenager that we normally show. We asked the girls and our one guy for intense looks…. or as I kept saying, looks full of teen angst. Tons of emotion, and sort of introverted. But I love the result and so did Kassidy,Rebecca, and Josef!

Thanks for note of appreciation. We have been getting a lot of positive feedback from our seniors and their parents. We are always trying to come up with new looks I just got a new crazy scheme and am looking forward to trying it out next week on a couple of our class of 2011.
