2011 Tour du Jour – Premier Kitchens Chattanooga, TN
Posted on 28. Mar, 2011 by Cansler Photography.
For the last five years I have been photographing several of the premier kitchens in Chattanooga to showcase during the Junior League’s annual fundraiser Tour du Jour. This year we had the opportunity to photograph nine kitchens that will be on the tour. All the kitchens this year are from very different styles. Everything from contemporary to traditional. Something for everyone, in other words. I have posted a couple of images from eight of the kitchens that will be on the tour to give you a quick taste. Make sure you save the date because not only is this a way to raise money for a worthy cause but the kitchens showcased are a treat to visit. Photographing each of these is a fun challenge because sometimes it is hard to get just the right angle.
The Event will be held on Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Tickets are available for $10 a person until April 1. The price will increase to $15 a person until April 9. On April 10, the day of Tour du Jour, tickets will be $20 a person. Purchase tickets online at www.jlchatt.org or by calling or stopping by the Junior League of Chattanooga headquarters during business hours, located at 622 East Fourth St. The day of Tour du Jour, tickets will be available for purchase at the kitchen locations.

SPA 2011 models photographed in Palm Springs, CA by Chattanooga photographer Cansler
Posted on 17. Mar, 2011 by Cansler Photography.
A couple of days ago I posted a slide Show of several of the images that I captured at our annual Senior Portrait Artists event in Palm Springs, CA. This post is to enable someone if they want to they can just click through the images as fast or slow as desired. Recently I added this type of slideshow capability to our blog and wanted an excuse to try it out. The SPA event this year was such a great learning experience because of all the unusual locations that we had the opportunity to photograph in and the challenge of grapping cool images quickly. There were 50 photographers competing for about 13 models and sometimes it was challenging. This high energy, high intensity type of photo shoot is what I have been experiencing when doing fashion work. I am looking forward to adding this type of segment to my normal high school senior sessions.

Tri State Home Show 2011 Chattanooga, TN
Posted on 09. Mar, 2011 by Cansler Photography.
Well I am finally catching my breath, well a little. We just finished the Tri State Home Show a few days ago and I am still trying to get caught up. Immediately before the show I went to Palm Springs for the annual Senior Portrait Artists event. It is always a fun time but the days are long starting at 7:30am and going until you drop at 11:30pm or maybe 12:30am. It may sound like a party and it is if you mean learning new marketing ideas, photographic techniques and photographing beautiful models! The weather was beautiful most of the time that I was there but a rain front moved in and rained for about 24 hours which is very unusual for Palm Springs. All that to say when I got back I needed a vacation but it was not to be because first thing Monday we started working on the Home Show. This was my 12th year of doing the Home Show and after last year I swore it would be my last. I decided that this year we were going to go for all new samples so every image in the booth except for one was new to the show.It was a pleasure getting to see so many of my favorite clients who came by and visited. Oh well I guess I’ll have to do it again next year, well maybe. This year we again changed up the design keeping the gallery feel from
before but adding a couple seating areas for comfort and the ability to chat with interested prospective clients.
I have to say a BIG thank you to Tim Bryant of Tim Bryant Interiors who again helped out with all the furniture. It is great to have friends that you can count on. He is trying to con me into doing the Atlanta show. Any comments?
