Our “IT” Girl

She’s lively, she’s lovely, and she knows it! Kirsten is eight years old, almost nine, and will exhaust you with her energy. This girl never stops. Her session came at the end of a long day, but you would never know it. In between takes her shoulders would droop and her eyes start to close, but as soon as Brad said “OK, we’re ready” those bright eyes popped open and she straightened up just beautifully.

And look out Mom and Dad; Kirsten has some attitude. Arms crossed and a cute smirk on her face, I see danger ahead for those teenage years! Just kidding, Dad! Kirsten will be as sweet then as she is now. But big brother may have to help intimidate some impudent young boys. I think he’s up for the challenge.

After all, Bryce was a good sport when Mom decided she wanted him in some of the portraits. Kirsten claimed he never smiled in photographs, that he always made funny faces. But we coaxed a few grins and even got some smiles out of him. You might even think Bryce and Kirsten liked each other. Imagine that!

And a quick fashion report: Kirsten’s dress is in the IT color of the season- purple. She and Mom have a great sense of style! Kirsten is part of our ongoing Strasburg Children Model Search.

Fantastic pictures! Even though I am Bryce and Kirsten’s aunt (and can be a little partial! ha ha) I really do love them and I’m so proud of Kirsten! I have to also say Bryce is a wonderful big brother!

For the last four years I have been  photographing several premier kitchens to showcase during the Junior League’s annual fundraiser Tour du Jour. This year is no exception currently there are six kitchens on the tour with greatly varing styles. In other words something for everyone. Here are three of the kitchens that will be on this years tour. Make sure you save the date because not only is this way to raise money for a worthy cause but the kitchens showcased are worthy of visiting.

Alexandra Sophia came to see us yesterday. Or Alex as her parents call her. She’s a Miracle Child for T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital annual calendar. Right from the beginning we could tell that this little girl knows what she’s about. Alex was having none of Brad’s silliness. I could see the look of “I’m too mature for that” on her face. Hilarious! Watching an adult make ridiculous noises while a child looks at them with confusion is priceless! And it makes for a very classic image, so no complaints here.

We did get a few golden smiles from Alex. She lights up when Mommy and Daddy clap their hands together. So a big thank you to them for being temporary assistants, bet they didn’t know that was coming.  Alex has already overcome a lot in her one year of life and she definitely has the composure to make it through the rest with a serene grace I think most of us would love to have.

Great pictures Brad. Thanks for everything. We will be in next week to pick out a bunch.

From Brian and Amy, Alex’s mom and dad.

She is Beautiful, and has a wonderful life ahead of her, that she worked so hard to to be a part of. Truly another of our family’s miracles.
